Education Dept: PPBD Clean from School Seats Sale

This year, Jakarta Education Department ensures there will be no school seats sale in the Jakarta New Students Registration (PPBD) this year. Its online registration was already closed on June 30. As planned, the available seats will be announced in the near future.

If they are proven guilty, I'll demote them

"I have summoned all the principals where they should commit not to sell school seats," said Head of Jakarta Education Department, Lasro Marbun, at City Hall, Wednesday (7/2).

Marbun asserted he does not hesitate to demote the principal post, if they are involved in sale practice of school seats. To remind the school, he also sent a circular letter to each school. "If they are proven guilty, I'll demote them," he asserted.

There is No Illegal Charges Practice in Row Village Program

He asks residents to immediately report to his department if they find such practice. The report would directly followed up.

Based on the data of Jakarta Education Department, the amount of empty seats at level of elementary school (SD) is 55,665 seats, comprising 49,982 seats for Jakarta students and 5,683 others for outside Jakarta.

While the amount of empty seats at level of Junior High School (SMP) is 42,447 seats from 284 schools, comprising from 35,198 seats via domicile line, 2,994 seats via achievement line, 903 seats via inclusion line, and 3,352 seats for outside Jakarta.

Furthermore, the amount of empty seats at level of Senior High School (SMA) is 16,727 seats, comprising 13,915 seats via domicile line, 1,274 seats via achievement line, 224 seats via inclusion line, and 1,314 seats for outside Jakarta. Especially for the MH THamrin Superior SMAN, empty seat reaches 80 seats, comprising 32 seats via general line, 8 seats via achievement line, and 32 seats for underprivileged children, and 8 seats for outside Jakarta.

Lastly, the amount of empty seats at level of Vocational School (SMK) reaches 15,719 seats, comprising 14,231 seats via domicile line, 636 seats via achievement line, 218 seats via inclusion line, and 634 seats for outside Jakarta.
